We are currently looking for a Purchaser at IKEA IMS to join our IKEA India team in Bangalore
IKEA Indirect Material and Services (IKEA IMS), established in 2004, is a global organisation with the task to purchase and supply non-home furnishing products and services for IKEA. IKEA IMS takes part in the overall supplying process and plays an important role in supporting existing and new stores. We are 350 co-workers worldwide that contribute to the IKEA vision “Creating a better everyday life for the many people”. We have site offices in Älmhult, Helsingborg, Philadelphia, Wiesbaden and Shanghai. IKEA IMS is represented in most countries where IKEA operates.
Do you want to be an important part of the IKEA growth?
We are now looking for an experienced purchaser who will mainly focus on facility management services.
Responsible for leading purchase projects from the very start to the final agreements. You, together with the team, will secure the best buy for IKEA. You have the responsibility to lead the national purchasing process of indirect material and services. You will actively improve and develop the IKEA IMS business in India as well as to lead and follow the IKEA IMS purchase concept. An important part of your role is to build trustful relations with stakeholders and users to achieve the best solutions. Together with the stakeholders you will ensure the compliance of agreements. You will secure the IKEA Code of Conduct, sustainability and business ethics standards. It is also important that you contribute and exchange experiences with other purchasers within IKEA IMS.
You will be part of a team that consists of the Country Purchase Manager, Purchasers, sustainability specialist and Business Analyst. This team is part of the regional purchase area Asia Pacific.
Is this the right challenge for you?
- We see that you have a university degree in engineering or business administration/economics and more than 5 years of professional purchase experience. We are open to candidates with other experiences, with the right personality and cultural fit. You have fact based decision making approach.
- Actively contribute in global Purchase Development Process with category throughout approach and leading the supplier performance and business development following Supplier development process.
- You have deep knowledge of Project Management tools. You have doing business with holistic view, always having customer, supplier, total IKEA and total cost development in mind.
As a person you have a business mindset with a strong drive and an openness to change. To look for new possibilities and improve ways of working comes natural to you. We believe that you are a good leader with great co-operation and communication skills. You like to interact with people and have an ability to build trustworthy relations. You also have good analytical skills. You have desire to find new business opportunities and make it happen through involving and engaging people. You have interest and drive to find common interests and agenda to build trust and partnership to reach common goals
As you often will work within an international are, you have knowledge and experience of how to cooperate and work with people in an international environment. You are fluent in English, both written and verbal. You have good computer knowledge and are skilled in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
