We are currently looking for a Product Quality Navigator to join our IKEA India team in Bangalore


Develop and improve products from an engineering perspective based on Retail/Business Area (BA) Home Furnishing Business (HFB) action plans and securing world class products through applying Democratic design.


  • Process owner for the Safety and Quality alarm process.
  • Develop and implement working methods and tools that supports preventive and corrective actions.
  • Initiate and drive broader quality projects to move quality related issues in Retail/Business Area dimension
  • Perform analysis and support measurements on quality issues in the Business Area Dimensions.


  • Responsible to coordinate the inflow of alarms and secures that actions are taken.

  • Process owner for the Safety and Quality alarm processes within the Retail/Business Area (BA).

  • Case manager in Safety Risk Group related cases, including initiating, preparing and participate in the SRG meeting.

  • Responsible for development and process owner of tools that supports Quality, Safety and Health deviations (for example root cause analysis, fishbone etc.) on Retail/Business Area level.

  • Support the development and process for working methods for validation of quality in the product development process (for example gate-checks, FMEA etc.).

  • Contributes to analysis regarding customer feed-back and translates it into concrete short term actions and as input to the development process.

  • The Product Quality Navigator is the main contact towards and on Retail/Business area level.

  • Participate in and initiate crossover initiatives between all HFB’s regarding Quality and Quality Improvements.

  • Contribute to identification and analysis on quality problems caused by production in close co-operation with Categories and Trading.

  • Contact person and co-ordinator in the Retail for Immediate actions (sale stop, blocked goods etc).

  • Secure learnings from product quality and deviations is captured and communicated back to relevant stakeholder.




  • University degree in engineering or equivalent

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written

  • IKEA concept, strategies and IKEA processes.

  • IKEA diamond and Democratic design.

  • Deep knowledge in Quality-alarm, Safety alarm, Deviation process.

  • Product Area knowledge (Product requirements, Market, Customer, Technical solutions and innovation).

  • Deep knowledge in Excel.

  • IT tools (Solid Works, Pia, PLUS).

  • Knowledge in production.

  • Deep knowledge in quality improvement and measurements

  • Good knowledge in different quality related tools (Six Sigma, ISO, DMAIC).

  • Knowledge of laws and standards- Chemical & Electrical Regulatory requirements (safety/performance) and IKEA quality standard demands.

  • Driven by the will to make things better by having control on details and measurements

  • Strong will to influence and make a difference.

  • Passionate about securing that the IKEA customer get high quality and safe products.

  • Engineering and/or production working experience. Experience from leading quality projects. Experienced in different quality improvement tools and measuring. High ability and drive in coordination and controlling with focus on quality always keeping the customer in mind.

  • University Technical degree or comparable knowledge

  • Experience from quality related role with focus on measuring, executing and follow up on quality and deviation in products.

  • Experience from working with quality tools like root cause analysis, FMEA, Six Sigma, ISO

  • Production and supplier knowledge

  • Focus on details at the same time as keeping the overall picture and being able to work both in the here and now and pro-actively

  • Work experience of 8-10 years in related field. - A genuine technical mind-set and person who takes proactive stance indentifying possible issues, probing and problem-solving
