We are looking for a Graphic Communication Co-worker to join our IKEA India Team in Mumbai

PURPOSE OF FUNCTION:

To inspire and surprise visitors by presenting and communicating the IKEA home furnishing offer with strong visual impressions that exceed visitors’ expectations. This will strengthen the IKEA Brand and convert more visitors into customers

PURPOSE OF JOB:

As a part of the store Communication and Interior design team you use your extensive knowledge of people’s life at home and your high level of home furnishing competence to present and communicate the IKEA product range in ways that make it attractive and relevant to your local market. You also support customer self-choice in the IKEA store and challenge and encourage the many people to see their homes in new ways.

ASSIGNMENT:

  • Contributing to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.

  • Applying your home furnishing knowledge to ensure up-to-date store media that exceed our visitors’ expectations.

  • Stimulating and increasing the interest for home furnishing through constantly showing new and inspiring solutions that motivate people to visit the IKEA store frequently.

  • Using the richness of the IKEA product range to show distinct and different styles that appeal to many individual

  • tastes and needs.

  • Securing the use of the store layout to create a good product overview and strong visual impact that facilitates the

  • buying process.

  • Reflecting the IKEA Brand identity by creating visual impact in all areas.

  • Constantly showing new and inspiring home furnishing solution that motivate people to visit the IKEA store more frequently.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THE GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION CO-WORKER

  • An education in graphic communication design, media and typography.

  • Creative thinking supported by commercial visual competence and a keen eye for aesthetics.

  • Ability to explain concepts verbally and through visual interpretation.

  • Ability to prioritise and organise own work to make the most efficient use of available time and meet agreed deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, with practical hands-on approach to work, and customer-focused mindset.

  • Enthusiastic about assignments and team works.

  • Good verbal communication and writing skills in both English and Hindi.

  • Computer proficient with knowledge and experience of using graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite), familiar with digital work for web/social media, and production tools, e.g. printers, pre-press production and print techniques.

  • Experience of working with graphic design in an advertising agency or retail design studio.
