Wholesale Operations Manager, IKEA India




The purpose of this job is to lead business and people in the whole sale operations function.

  • To ensure that we have a compliant and business driven set up from legal, processes and tools perspective that is integrated within the overall IKEA Value Chain.
  • To manage the relationship with ISAG and its related entities in matters of contracts, workflows, ways of working, payments and resolution of operational issues .
  • To work in close co-operation with the IKEA India DSP to ensure that the wholesale set up and direction is aligned with an optimized distribution set up & operation (DSP responsibility)
  • To provide guidance and oversight to the customs and internal pricing
  • To manage the process of quality control and returns with support from the QSC in Shanghai


  • Your tasks will include:
  • Lead IKEA India wholesale function for an overall integration with IKEA value chain and meeting the needs of IKEA India business direction and business set up
  • Accountable to effective and compliant wholesale operations, inventory valuation and control, including securing wholesale pricing with lowest possible cost, smooth import activities and bonded warehouse support.
    - Through thorough understanding of wholesale operation and finance. Contribute to the development of our margin by driving solutions and efficiencies in the supply chain within the scope of IKEA India
    - To analyze and provide information to retail on internal pricing and take a proactive role in steering positive development of landed costs .
  • Support internal stakeholders in IKEA India with competent knowledge in IKEA value chain set up and whole sales related operation
  •  Lead, standardize and anchor an effective and efficient internal control and governance framework of whole sales related areas.
    - Represent IKEA India in wholesale related matters towards stakeholders as, e.g., authorities and Inter IKEA Systems 
    - Set up and operate the quality control framework, initially working with Shanghai QSC
  • Lead and actively steer the personal and professional development and recruitment and succession planning


  • Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
  • Very good understanding of IKEA value chain and IKEA wholesale specific related topics & set up (pricing/ways of working/systems)
  • Extensive knowledge to take IKEA India business direction into wholesale related action and have the leadership to implement and achieve result
  • Good knowledge of customer needs and expectations regarding quality performance 
  • Relevant good knowledge in the area of finance, legal, risk and Customs.
  • Very good communication skills and stakeholder management to be able to create win-win solution with customer in mind
